There was a slight lift in prices paid for the best of the store lambs yesterday at the Matawhero Saleyards.

A total of 2080 store lambs were offered and all were sold; generally the quality was higher this week.

KJ & RE Fisher, at Motu, were paid the top price of $114.50 for 81 woolly, heavy store male lambs. Te Wera Station and CNA & JM Marr each received $80 for the best of their store ewe lambs.

Growers on the Poverty Bay Flats entered the market for store lambs this week.

In the prime pens, Te Wera Station received $70 for 13 heavy ewes. The five prime two-tooth ewes offered sold from $85 down to $76.
