Arrest after police car rammed in Tolaga Bay

A man was arrested after an incident in Tolaga Bay yesterday morning in which a police car was rammed and damaged.

Officers were conducting routine inquiries in the township at around 7am when a man fled from a Paroa Road address.

Police allege a stolen vehicle was used to ram a police car. They called for public assistance to locate the man and the vehicle.

The police officers in the patrol car were not injured.

A man was arrested without incident just before 12.30pm yesterday.

“We would like to thank the public and local community for their cooperation and assistance while we worked to locate him,” police said.

“Charges are being considered.”
