Armed police went to a house in King Street off Hospital Road in Mangapapa yesterday morning after reports of a person at a house in the street acting threateningly.
The reports about the incident came in at around 10am.
“One person was taken into custody following the incident,” a policespokesman said.
“Police who attended were armed as a precaution.”
The street was cordoned off while police resolved the situation.
A large amount of glass was broken on the road during the incident and contractors were called in to clear it away.
“Our inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing,” police said.
Mangapapa School was advised of the incident and parents collecting children at midday — ahead of parent-teacher interviews in the afternoon — were told to follow the instructions of police.
