Another small sheep sale

These 36 healthy store wether lambs from Te Wera Station sold at the weekly Matawhero sheep sale yesterday for $86, the top price. Prices remain steady with Te Wera being the sole vendor of store lambs. Picture by Trevor Brown

Yesterday’s sheep sale at the Matawhero saleyards was another small one,  with just 541 head yarded in total.

There were 37 ewes in the prime pens and they sold from $65 down to $51.

Te Wera Station was the only vendor of store lambs. Their first pick of 36 healthy wether lambs, with an estimated live weight of 33 kgs, sold for $86.

This vendor also offered 44 big, fat, mixed age, store ewes, very suitable for mating and they fetched $90.

Prices paid remain steady for all lines.
