There was a total clearance of the 3478 freshly weaned lambs at the Matawhero saleyards yesterday, trucked in from Totangi Farm Ltd at Ngatapa. Prices ranged from $90 down to $30 for some later-born ones, averaging $64.80.

The black face lambs, out of a facial eczema-resistant and antibiotic-free ewe flock, were very well presented, drafted for size and sex.

Prices paid were in accord with prices being paid elsewhere in the North Island, where there is currently limited demand for store lambs.

Prices —

Male lambs: 305, $90, 508, $75, 461, $65, 188, $64.5.
