Organisers are expecting a riot of colour and fragrance at the annual event at the Farmers Air Gisborne Event Centre this weekend.

Rose and iris blooms will be on show along with other garden plants, produce and floral arrangements.

An additional feature this year will be “Identify that rose”, where people can bring along a bloom they want to be named and the experts on hand will do their best to help.

The show will be open to the public on Saturday from 1pm to 4pm and on Sunday, from 10am to 3pm.

Entry is $5 and is free for children.
