A Christmas market with a difference took place on Saturday at the Albert Cox Skatepark — all the stall holders were under the age of 18.
The fine weather coupled with the delicious offerings on sale made for a successful market and organiser Cain Kerehoma said the young people involvedgained some good practical experience.
Mr Kerehoma wants to help support young entrepreneurs. He said the Hokohoko Youth Market was a way for youngsters to get experience in running a business.
The market attracted a steady stream of customers throughout the day.
“Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we’ve learned a few lessons. We’d like to step up the entertainment next time and get more young buskers and entertainers involved.”
