I suspect that I am not alone in struggling to understand how the new Affordable Water Reforms structure will be composed and how the charges will be billed.
Can the council please confirm that our rates will go down?
In examining my rates bill I calculate the components of Land
Drainage, Waipaoa River Flood Control, Water Conservation, Stormwater and Drains, and Water Supply to total $1047.30 pa excl gst. (some 36 percent of the total rates bill). Can the council please confirm that these components will be completely removed from the rates bill?
No doubt some other entity will bill me for the three waters — hopefully a reduced amount, as promised by the Minister for Local Government.
