Saturday and Sunday at Lysnar House. Norman Maclean will have about 50 of his works up for sale. To see such a varied body of work in one exhibition is a rare treat and one people should be sure to see. The show runs from 10am to 4pm each day.

Faces of the Coast art auction

Forty-10 Cafe, 14 Lowe Street. Friday November 24, from 5pm to 8pm. In loving Memory of Danny Taniora Carse. The aim of this exhibition is to raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention and mental health.️ Art works are still being accepted for this charity auction.

Gisborne Art Market

Largest outdoor arts and crafts market in Gisborne. Sunday, December 3.  Local artisans sell their handmade creations at Marina Park, 9.30am-1.30pm.

Maiko Lewis-Whaanga’s Breathe

The exhibition will be on display at the Tairāwhiti Museum until Sunday December 3. Connecting to her heritage, Maiko draws upon a Japanese aesthetic, Shibumi, a concept based around simplicity, refinement, harmony, and balance. Wabi Sabi is another aesthetic that Maiko is learning to embrace; beauty found in imperfection and impermanence.

The Millard Studio

Tairāwhiti Museum until Sunday January 28. This exhibition displays many fine portraits taken in the early 1900s, costumes of the time, significant locals and groups are reprinted in large format to show their glamour and detail. The Millard studio was established in 1915.

Rima Tekau - Melanie Tahata

Rima Tekau is a sharing and expression of whānaungatanga, of toi Māori and most importantly, aroha. Sharing this milestone in her creative life-path, multi-disciplinary artist Melanie

Tahata has curated  a solo exhibition of whānau archives alongside a selection of older and recent works. Ends December 10.

Purapura Whetu - Michelle Hinekura Kerr

Tairāwhiti Museum, exhibition is made up of woven sculptures that recall the ancestral stories of the whānau mārama, the celestial family of light. Ends Nov 26.

He Kākahu Rerehua — The Uplifting Wind

He Kākahu Rerehua |The Uplifting Wind weaves together an exhibition, collection care project and wānanga in one space.
