LOOKING for something special for those balmy evenings we are all waiting for? A new boutique stocked with labels for the spring/summer seasons has come to your rescue — Truly.

Truly, a play on the names of owners Trish Maclean and Julie Isaac, stocks beautiful New Zealand-made and overseas labels featuring high-quality design and fabric.

Trish, who has a background in fashion — first as a model and then in retail — has joined forces with friend and fashion lover Julie to offer a range of desirable high fashion at affordable prices.

“We aim to satisfy our customers by offering fantastic service in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We have something for women of all ages, whether they are looking for something casual or for a special occasion,” says Trish.

“We want to provide Gisborne women with a viable alternative to shopping out of town or online.”

With New Zealand labels such as Bittermoon, Scope, Marle and Visage, Truly will also stock labels from around the world including French label Suncoo.

There is a range of trendy raincoats from Danish label Rains which are plain and stylish in grey, beige, rose and black. So now you can make a fashion statement even in a sudden downpour.

Julie is looking forward to working in the bright and breezy boutique located on Gladstone Road. Both owners want to make people feel comfortable and relaxed. They have fitted the shop out with custom-made wooden furniture, including a table and chair where shoppers can sit and relax while shopping.

“I think as a woman you need to spoil yourself,” says Julie.

“What you wear affects your mood. It can make you feel good. Fashion is fun and maybe a little bit frivolous, but it’s totally enjoyable. It’s about finding a style or colour you love and a cut that suits your shape. And that’s what Trish and I are looking forward to helping customers with.”
