CULT CLASSIC: Comedian Justin ‘Rusty’ White didn’t learn from his 2017 show, I Learnt Something Once, and is now returning to Gisborne with his new show, The Thinking Person’s Idiot. Picture supplied
“Funny, funny, funny, funny, funny,” was TheatreView’s response to comedian Justin ‘Rusty’ White’s 2017 show, I Learnt Something Once, and now the funny-man is returning to Gisborne with a new show.
White recently performed in a sold-out show in the Nelson Fringe Festival, and enjoyed a critically acclaimed run in
the Dunedin Fringe. Now Christchurch’s cult classic will present The Thinking Person’s Idiot at the Dome as part of his nationwide tour.
Described as “the ginger stepchild of New Zealand comedy” White is said to have left his smudge on the stand up scene “by relentlessly not sucking in venues great and small throughout our green and queasy land.” Despite that, or because of it, his various awards include Best Comedian at 2016 and 2017 Christchurch Comedy Awards. He was also announced Best Male Comedian winner of 2017 Go Media Comedy event.
Justin ‘Rusty’ White is The Thinking Person’s Idiot, Dome Room, October 27, 8pm. Tickets $12 from http://www.iticket.co.nz, door sales (if available) $20.
