A travelling print show that fits into a small box ready to be unpacked, and the contents hung and viewed at each destination, opens in Gisborne on Saturday.
Local printmakers Jean Johnstone, Amber Graham and Teressa Matthews have works in the Small Print Exhibition, a travelling show that aims to
raise awareness of the art and of the organisation behind the tour, Print Council Aoteroa New Zealand.
“It's a great way to promote printmaking and to offer affordable art,” says Hawke's Bay-based co-organiser Rosalie Thompson.
All prints are made on quality A4 printmaking paper and retail at $100 each.
“Each artist might have six to seven prints in their folder. When they sell one they take another print from the folder to replace it.”
