A Tony Ogle screen-print (pictured) and a work by Dick Frizzell are included in The Taniora: diamonds in the rough art auction, which will be held at Miharo Gallery on Saturday (note — not the usual Friday) at 6pm with live music, drinks and the opportunity to buy artwork and support a good cause. All proceeds will go to the Mahisian Wave Warriors, and Moko Turongo. Picture supplied
When surf/artist Brett Summerlee lost a mate to suicide he and another friend wanted to do something to support mental health workers.
Miharo Gallery owner Rosie Cruddas whole-heartedly agreed to host an auction of donated artworks to help raise funds for whichever cause Summerlee and his surfing mate decided on.
Cruddas and Summerlee approached various artists with the idea and were overwhelmed with the number of contributions.
Among them is a Tony Ogle screen-print (pictured) and a work by Dick Frizzell.
All proceeds will go to the Mahisian Wave Warriors, and Moko Turongo.
