Indigenous training provider Te Whare Wananga o Te Kurahuna is launching its new learning space with a traditional Maori arts exhibition tonight.
Te Kurahuna is made up of over 25 services who meet regularly to reinstate and embed indigenous knowledge systems into learning. Te Kurahuna is the training provider forTe Kuwatawata and Te Hiringa Matua services, the Tairawhiti region’s latest community response to mental health and addiction distress. Gisborne artist Nick Tupara is leading the effort for the Te Kurahuna exhibition.
The exhibition opens tonight at Te Whare Wananga o Te Kurahuna, 75a Peel Street, Gisborne from 5.30pm.
