His voice is described as the sexy, sandpapered-sound of the new generation bluesman and tomorrow night new generation bluesman Joel Fafard performs in Wairoa. Fafard’s EastEnd Cafe show will be the last of the venue’s summer and autumn international music series.
The Juno (Canada’s Grammy awards) nominee and a Western
Canadian Music Award winner is legendary for his resonator guitar solos and between-song stories.
Along with the regional and national award nominations some of his eight albums have attracted, Fafard has been a runner-up for an International Acoustic Music Award.
In his almost 20 years as a professional musician, Fafard has performed as folk singer-songwriter, roots rocker, acoustic instrumentalist and now interpreter of Southern roots and blues.
This is his fourth New Zealand visit.
