A regular accompanist for young musicians performing in the Gisborne International Music Competition, pianist Somi Kim’s concert at Auckland Town Hall tonight will be livestreamed at 8pm.
Kim performs the Gershwin Piano Concerto in F with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of Holly Mathieson.
Gershwin’s breezy concerto is
sandwiched between two composers ripe for discovery — Bologne and Farrenc, says the pianist.
“I’ll be playing the Steinway & Sons in the Auckland Town Hall and will be dressed by Kiwi designer Trelise Cooper.”
