East Coast farmers still have time to register for the “Wormwise in Action” field day to be held on January 22 near Tolaga Bay.

Beef + Lamb New Zealand (B+LNZ) will run it on Te Rimu Station, on Tauwhareparae Rd, from 9am till noon that day.

“Join us for an interactive day where you will see and hear from farmers in our Livestock Parasite Management Group implementing key principles of sustainable worm control through grazing management,” said B+LNZ extension manager Ali Forbes.

The event will be held in partnership with B+LNZ MAB Gisborne and Tairāwhiti Whenua Collective.

“Greg Tattersfield will be on hand to explain how changes in grazing management and use of forage crops can disrupt the worm life cycle and reduce pasture contamination.

“This day will be for all levels and will include core internal parasite principles,” Forbes said.

“Meet at the old Ratanui bull shed – park on left as you enter the driveway.

“4WD utes are required for the farm tour – no quads.”
