Stand-up to save the world: Leading comedians Nick Rado and Raybon Kan are teaming up for their latest stand-up comedy show, Rado and Raybon Save The World. Picture supplied

Leading New Zealand comedians Nick Rado and Raybon Kan have teamed up to perform a two-hour show in which stand-up lights the way to the pair saving the world – they guarantee the world will not end during the show.

Their show, appropriately titled, Rado and Raybon Save The World is coming to Gisborne on Tuesday, March 6 at the Gisborne Cosmopolitan Club from 8.30pm.

Rado and Raybon have separate slots in the first half of the show, then come together in the second to solve problems suggested by the audience.

And if the audience doesn’t come up with enough burning issues of the day, they’ll offer their own.

Nick Rado is an award winning presenter, producer, writer and MC. He has performed stand-up comedy to critical acclaim in the UK, US, China, Australia and NZ, as well as performing in the Edinburgh, Leicester, Brighton, Bath, Hong Kong and NZ comedy festivals.

He’s looking forward to jousting with Raybon on this upcoming tour.

Raybon Kan is a familiar face in New Zealand comedy.

Born in Masterton and moving at an early age to Wellington after his family moved to NZ, Raybon showed early promise as a performer.

He became School Council President while at high school and captained Victoria University to second place in the World Universities Debating championships — only pipped at the post by Oxford University.

He completed a law honours degree and also won the Dominion Journalist Scholarship, and the Energy Law Research scholarship while at Victoria University.

Named Best Comedian by Metro and North and South magazines on numerous occasions, Raybon has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a host of other international comedy festivals.

He has appeared on TV’s Pulp Comedy, Nightline and other programmes.

He has starred in a number of films, and written several books, including Five Days in Las Vegas and America on Five Bullets a Day.

After living overseas for a few years, he has returned to New Zealand, continuing to provide commentary on social issues in print media.
