Raybon Kan is a familiar face in New Zealand comedy.
Born in Masterton and moving at an early age to Wellington after his family moved to NZ, Raybon showed early promise as a performer.
He became School Council President while at high school and captained Victoria University to second place in the World Universities Debating championships — only pipped at the post by Oxford University.
He completed a law honours degree and also won the Dominion Journalist Scholarship, and the Energy Law Research scholarship while at Victoria University.
Named Best Comedian by Metro and North and South magazines on numerous occasions, Raybon has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a host of other international comedy festivals.
He has appeared on TV’s Pulp Comedy, Nightline and other programmes.
He has starred in a number of films, and written several books, including Five Days in Las Vegas and America on Five Bullets a Day.
After living overseas for a few years, he has returned to New Zealand, continuing to provide commentary on social issues in print media.
