IT FIGAROS: You don’t have to come from Mozart’s birthplace of Salzburg, Austria to be part of the Wanderlust Opera Company’s production of the 18th century genius’s comedy The Marriage of Figaro. The company needs a local pop-up chorus for their Gisborne show.
A NEW, fun translation of Mozart’s comedy The Marriage of Figaro, to be performed by the Wanderlust Opera Company next month, needs a locally produced chorus for the company’s Gisborne production.
Chorus members will sit in the audience until called up to entertain the nobility on stage which means the
Gisborne performers will both see and be in the Wellington-based opera company’s show.
Interested? Text Gavin Maclean at 021 110 4913, email cullerlie@gmail.com or just turn up at St Andrew’s Church music room (behind Pak’nSave, back door of church) on Sunday at 4pm. Weekly rehearsal times can be arranged to suit.
“This will also be the opportunity to form an ongoing youth choir,” Maclean said. “But no pressure!”
