Unconventional methods that participants will find challenging and intriguing are promised for sculptor Sasha Nunn’s life drawing workshop this month.

An accomplished local artist, Nunn offers a unique approach to drawing from the nude model. The morning session will involve unconventional life drawing methods while in the afternoon participants will work on a more detailed development of their own.

Life drawing workshop conducted by Sasha Nunn, Saturday, May 22, 9.30am, Lysnar House. Cost — $40.

Painter and portrait artist Kath McLaughlin offers a day-long portrait drawing course next month, suitable for beginners and the experienced.

Kath McLaughlin’s portrait drawing course will be held at Lysnar House on Sunday, June 27, 9.30am. Cost — $40.

In the second half of July, painter Graeme Nicoll will begin a series of night classes devoted to all aspects of painting in acrylics.

The four-week course of eight hours in total begins on Wednesday, July 21 and ends on Wednesday September 8. Experience is preferred but not essential.

Artists interested in these courses should watch for details in The Gisborne Herald and on the Gisborne Artists Society Facebook page. The cost is still to be advised.
