Among winners announced for this year’s National Waiata Maori Music Awards was Te Kaha-based musician Rob Ruha’s song, Ka Manu.
With the combined voices of Ruha, Maisey Rika, Horomona Horo, Majic Paora, Troy Kingi, Ria Hall, Seth Haapu and Bella Kalolo, the waiata won Radio Airplay Song of the Yearby a Maori Artist in Te Reo Award.
The musicians worked together to record the song to support the Ihumatao land protectors.
