YOUNG STAR: Vahn Forrest-Solomon has a supporting role in a New Zealand black comedy, Fresh Eggs, which is due to air on TVNZ2 this month. Picture supplied
A black comedy TV series called Fresh Eggs features Frasertown School pupil Vahn Forrest-Solomon in his debut role. Vahn plays a support role as Simon in the show TVNZ describes as a “black comedy with a deliciously twisted sense of humour”. The six episode series follows a couple’s quest for
the good life which goes “wickedly awry”.
One of the few child cast members in the Warner Bros International Television Production TV show, Vahn was chosen for the role after his first ever television audition. He joins a cast that includes familiar names such as Claire Chitham as Penny and Cohen Holloway as Wade. Penny and Wade crave a peaceful, picture-perfect existence. But when they make the move to the small town of Alberton they find themselves in the middle of something odd and slightly sinister. After a fatal accident, Penny and Wade find themselves face-to-face with some very bad eggs, who threaten not only their happiness, but their lives.
Vahn’s acting role follows his trip to Sydney last year after he caught the eye of producers at an Auckland audition.
The nine-year-old recently attended auditions for other shows and has made it to the second stage of an audition process alongside New Zealand actor Cliff Curtis.
