The Royal New Zealand Ballet acclaimed production of Hansel & Gretel launches the RNZB's free broadcasts of recent performances via Facebook Premiere from tomorrow.

Choreographed by Loughlan Prior, with an original score by Claire Cowan, Hansel & Gretel was filmed live onstage at the Opera House in Wellington in November.

The Ice Cream Witch, her monstrous alter ego, the Witch Transformed, Hansel and Gretel's loving but impoverished parents, the otherworldly Sand Man and the King and Queen of the Dew Fairies fill the stage with colour and grace while down in the pit is Orchestra Wellington under the baton of conductor Hamish McKeich.

The production will be broadcast three times over the weekend: tomorrow at 7.30pm, Saturday at 1.30pm and Sunday at 10.30am.
