Captain Underpants: Animated movie about two comic-book-writing friends who hypnotise their mean-spirited school principal into believing he is Captain Underpants, whose main power is extreme stupidity.

David Gilmour: Live at Pompeii: One-night-only global screening of a concert movie taken from the two July 2016 performances staged by the former Pink Floyd guitarist in the ancient Pompeii amphitheatre.

Wind River: Elizabeth Olsen plays a rookie FBI agent who teams up with a game tracker (Jeremy Renner) to investigate a murder on a native American reservation.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard: An elite bodyguard (Ryan Reynolds) must protect a notorious hitman (Samuel L. Jackson) from those out to silence him. Normally mortal enemies, the pair must stick together for 24 hours of car and boat chases, and shoot-outs.

American Made: Tom Cruise plays a pilot and drug smuggler recruited by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The Dark Tower: Based on Stephen King novels. A gunslinger, Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), must protect the Dark Tower from the Man in Black, Walter O’Dim (Matthew McConaughey).

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets: Corrosive mass threatens space city that houses species from 1000 planets. Space agents Major Valerian and Sergeant Laureline are sent to investigate.

Annabelle: Creation: Prequel to the movie Annabelle, and the fourth film in The Conjuring series.

Dunkirk: The Dunkirk story, directed by Christopher Nolan. Unknown actors in lead roles, but Kenneth Branagh, Tom Hardy and Mark Rylance also star.

DOME CINEMA

The Free Man: Documentary directed by Toa Fraser (The Dead Lands) and built around encounters between Kiwi freestyle skier Jossi Wells and The Flying Frenchies, known for their base jumps, wingsuit flying and tightrope walks.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets: Corrosive mass threatens 28th-century space metropolis housing species from a thousand planets. Space agents Major Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Sergeant Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are sent to investigate. Film based on a French sci-fi comic series. Luc Besson wrote the screenplay, co-produced and directed.

God’s Own Country: A young Yorkshire farmer, emotionally shut off through drink and the need to keep the family farm going, gets help at lambing time in the form of a Romanian migrant worker, and must confront feelings of love for the first time. Described by one reviewer as “almost but not quite a Dales Brokeback”.
