Terminator: Dark Fate: The sixth instalment in the Terminator franchise and a direct sequel to The Terminator (1984) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). It is the first film in the series since Terminator 2 with franchise creator James Cameron on board (as co-producer). Hillary: Ocean to Sky: Michael Dillon, a member of Sir Edmund Hillary’s Ocean to Sky expedition in 1977, put together a documentary film, From the Ocean to the Sky, released in 1979. He has revisited the film, reportedly to good effect. Expedition members were to travel the length of the Ganges in three jet boats and then climb a peak above the river’s headwaters.

Cats: Musical fantasy based on Andrew Lloyd Webber stage musical. A tribe of cats called the Jellicles decide — over the course of a night — which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life. This mix of computer-generated imagery and live action stars James Corden, Judi Dench, Idris Elba, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, Rebel Wilson and Francesca Hayward.

Hustlers: Jennifer Lopez stars in drama-thriller about two strippers who drug Wall Street clientele, then max out their credit cards.

Joker: A gritty study of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man disregarded by society. Also stars Robert De Niro.

Judy: Thirty years after starring in The Wizard of Oz, beloved actress and singer Judy Garland (Renee Zellweger) arrives in London to perform sold-out shows at the Talk of the Town nightclub. While there, she reminisces with friends and fans.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil: Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) is back and not happy about Princess Aurora telling her she’s getting married to Prince Phillip, and is even more put out when Phillip’s mum (Michelle Pfeiffer) says it’s time for Aurora to have “a real mother”.

Ride Like A Girl: Feelgood Aussie movie, directed by Rachel Griffiths and starring New Zealand’s Sam Neill, about Michelle Payne — the first female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup (2015).

Zombieland: Double Tap: It’s been 10 years since they banded together in an America overrun by zombies, and Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) and friends face a newly evolved enemy on top of some of the more conventional “family” issues.
