A15th anniversary exhibition and a showcase of four DJs are planned as part of the run up to Rhythm and Vines.
Reflections — R&V 15th Anniversary Exhibition, is a series of posters whose patterns bear the names of acts who have performed at the festival over the years, opens at
the Paul Nache Gallery tomorrow at 5.30pm. The show is an opportunity to see how the R&V poster and the lineup has evolved from the festival’s BBQ reggae days of 2003-2006 through indie rock, electro, drum and bass, to the growth of hip-hop and electronic dance music.
R&V has hosted more than 500 acts from New Zealand and around the world.
“These acts are more than just a name on a poster,” say the poster exhibition organisers.
“They tell a story. A story of pop culture, musical trends that shaped the festival landscape here in New Zealand. From bedroom producers to your mate’s mate’s band, right through to some of the biggest acts in the world, including some of Aotearoa’s very own.”
