Celebrate the holiday rush with an effortlessly delicious last-minute Christmas recipe: the Caprese Salad. In just five minutes, you can assemble this fresh and vibrant dish that requires no cooking.

Caprese Salad is a simple, classic Italian salad. Easy to prepare, it is a perfect starter or summer salad and great at any gathering.

Ingredients

2 handfuls of cherry tomatoes, halved

125g fresh baby mozzarella, halved

12 basil leaves, torn

20ml good quality olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Mix tomatoes and mozzarella on a white platter or in a bowl

Drizzle with the olive oil and season with salt and pepper

Scatter torn basil leaves over the tomatoes

Serve with crusty bread and a fresh green salad
