THE Gisborne man who suffered extensive burns in a house fire in Redmond Street in Elgin on Tuesday morning remains in a critical condition in Middlemore Hospital in Auckland.
The man, aged in his 40s, was flown to Middlemore’s burns unit later that day.
He was the only occupant of
the house at the time of the fire.
“He remains in a critical but stable condition,” a Middlemore spokeswoman said this morning.
Police have an inquiry under way into the incident and have said they were not looking for anyone else in relation to it.
