SING IT OUT: The Gisborne Choral Society is taking on music by Baroque masters Vivaldi and Bach. Picture supplied
The Gisborne Choral Society is set to hit the ground singing with a short, sparkling programme of music by Baroque masters Vivaldi and Bach.
The Vivaldi Gloria is an all-time favourite by the composer of The Four Seasons, which still glories in being the most often recorded of all music
pieces.
The Easter Oratorio by JS Bach will be represented by two joyous choruses, and both works will feature solos and a duet by Maddy Jones, Catherine Macdonald and Esther Hudson.
Although with an Easter flavour, the concert will be two weeks earlier, on Sunday, April 3 (and perhaps with a repeat to spread the audience under Covid restrictions).
Conducted by Gavin Maclean, the show will be accompanied partly by Sean Scanlen on the organ of St Andrew's Church, and partly by piano, harpsichord and other instruments.
