Not one but two renowned international music festivals have invited local band Brazilbeat Sound System to perform at their venues in America this June.

Now in it’s 26th year,  Sierra Nevada World Music Festival is a three-day camping and music festival featuring top names in Jamaican roots reggae and world music.

The event is held at the Mendocino fairgrounds in the town of Boonville, California.

Kiwi bands Katchafire and Fat Freddy’s Drop have performed at Sierra Nevada in the past.

The family-friendly event has a Kids’ Zone and offers activities and workshops in addition to the stage performances.

The other festival, Northern Nights, is another three-day camping and music festival held at a beautiful location on the shores of the Eel River, Cook’s Valley Campground in Piercy, California.

The festival has built its name based on an eclectic mix of music, serene redwood forest landscapes, and industry-leading cannabis programming in a state where recreational cannabis is fully legal.

The line-up features top DJs and electronic acts from the USA and around the world. Northern Nights has been going since 2013.

“We are excited to bring our music to some new audiences,” said Brazilbeat’s Nego Beto. “It will be a new experience and we are looking forward to the inspirations that this will bring.”

On their return, Brazilbeat Sound System look forward to performing at their annual winter event Ice Block, and the Longline Classic 2023 music festival in Gisborne at Labour Weekend.
