Uber Eats in Gisborne now

Gisborne is now part of the Uber Eats empire, following the app’s expansion into new markets across regional New Zealand.

“New Zealanders have embraced the convenience of accessing an incredible selection of restaurants at their fingertips in the 13 cities where we are already available,” Uber New Zealand general manager Emma Foley said.

“We’re delighted to be able to bring our technology to even more small businesses, delivery people and of course to as many hungry customers across Aotearoa as possible.

Uber Eats expanded to Gisborne and 16 other locations on November 15.

“We are thrilled to welcome and support local merchants. Despite being in the early stages, we’re already seeing positive volumes and we’re hoping to see this continue as we head into the busy holiday season,” she said.

“Uber Eats is a seamless way to get some great Kiwi kai to where you are in Aotearoa. We are thrilled to be able to support a deeper line-up of local restaurants by bringing the magic of Uber Eats to even more Kiwis.

“This expansion provides a great opportunity for more local businesses to utilise technology and reach new customers, as well as serve untapped delivery demand from their local communities.

“In 2021 Uber’s platforms encouraged New Zealanders to support local restaurants and merchants leading to $88 million in additional revenue for our restaurant partners.”

Restaurateur Gurpreet Singh was one of those happy to see the app expand to Gisborne.

“We only opened our doors a month ago, so we’re really happy to have the opportunity to reach out to Gizzy locals through the Uber Eats platform,” Gurpreet said.

“As a new business, we want to be able to expand as best we can, and with Uber Eats we’re able to share our delicious dishes with customers in Gisborne.”
