THREE Gisborne accountants and business leaders Charles Rau, Aaron Snodgrass and Mike Torrie, have been awarded a top accounting honour recognising outstanding service to their profession and the community.

They are among 212 Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) members from 10 countries to receive a Chartered Accountants ANZ fellowship in 2017.

Peter Vial FCA, CA ANZ New Zealand country head, said the range of the fellows’ activities and achievements mirrored the diversity of roles chartered accountants play in business and in communities.

“Our latest fellows have made important contributions to the profession through their work in businesses, the public sector, academia and the not-for-profit sector.

“Many of them have also undertaken significant pro bono work for charities and other community groups. Fellowships are peer recognition awards, making them even more meaningful for the recipients.”
