He Ara Ahumahi is seen as an important part of Rua's Community Capability Development Programme, funded in part by Trust Tairāwhiti.
“The trust is proud to support these internships that provide poutama for hard-working Māori rangatahi to pursue their academic goals in STEM vocational areas,” said trust chief executive Gavin Murphy.
“The intent of the internships aligns with the trust's wellbeing framework, He Rangitapu He Tohu Ora, and delivers on Ttrust aspirations to have more rewarding career pathways.
“It helps build diversity and resilience in our regional economy.”
Applications for the cultivation internship, which lasts for 12 weeks, close on May 20. The internship starts in June. Applications should be made directly to Darylene.rogers@ruabio.com
