Prue Younger named FICA chief executive

GISBORNE woman Prue Younger has been named as the new chief executive of the Forestry Industry Contractors Association (FICA) but will continue in her role with the Eastland Wood Council in the interim.

Mrs Younger has been the chief executive of the Eastland Wood Council (EWC)for more than two years.

She takes up her new role on April 1 in a part time capacity for the next 12 months.

“Prue will continue as Eastland Wood Council chief executive until a new appointment is made,” said council chairman Iain McInnes.

She has an extensive background in marketing, promotions and event management, and has several governance roles and chair positions in sport, health and community trusts.

“As director of Public Impressions Ltd, she has also been instrumental in the establishment of several forestry award campaigns around the country,? Mr McInnes said.

“EWC would like to thank her for her great efforts over the past two and a half years.

“She has really moved the organisation forward and set the benchmark for what a wood council can achieve, so it will be a great loss to the organisation.

“However, we congratulate her on her appointment with FICA and are sure they will benefit from her skill base and knowledge now in the forest industry.”

FICA president Ross Davis she will be welcomed on board.

“We are sure there will be some significant changes to the operation of the organisation,” he said.

“We look forward to Prue taking it to another level.”
