Eastland Port and ISO Limited are tracking well to meet the public health order requiring all border-facing port workers to have their first Covid-19 vaccination by September 30.

Earlier last month Eastland Port reported all of its seven front-line staff were fully vaccinated.

ISO Limited chief executive officer Paul Cameron said there continued to be “strong uptake” among ISO-employed stevedores at the port.

“We're thrilled that 98 percent of our border-facing staff have had at least one vaccination or are booked in, so we are well on track to achieving the end of month target.

“We have been actively promoting vaccinations and have had individual conversations to address any concerns and provide helpful resources to ensure our staff have felt well-informed and educated.”

Eastland Group chief operating officer Andrew Gaddum said having the on-port vaccination clinics made it convenient for port workers to get their jab.

“We thank the Covid-19 vaccination team at Turanga Health for ensuring those clinics ran safety and efficiently.

“In addition to vaccinations, we maintain stringent health and safety protocols and follow all requirements set by the Ministry of Health and Maritime NZ.”
