The freighter Kowhai will sail from Eastland Port later today with the second consignment of Gisborne kiwifruit bound for overseas markets.

The Kowhai is taking away 1200 pallets and follows the freighter C S Service which also loaded 1200 pallets last weekend.

Both consignments are for Zespri. A further four shipments will leave from Eastland Port this season — The Ice Glacier on May 3-5, Lady Rosebay May 17-19, C S Standard May 30-June 1 and the Southampton Star on June 6.
