World-renowned speaker, motivator and educator Catherine Newton is offering Whanganui women some inspiration "to get your business cranking".

Ms Newton will speak at 'Cocktails with Catherine' on Thursday, March 1, "an evening of fun, laughter and the sharing of plain old common sense business ideas". The function includes drinks, canapes and networking followed by a two-hour presentation and question and answer session.

The women-only event is aimed at business owners and managers, senior executives and those who want to go into business.

Ms Newton, who is based in Auckland, studied education and psychology at university then worked in the education industry before "unexpectedly falling in love with helping people build businesses and careers that make an impact and shift their relationship with themselves and with money".

Her work and presentations have been featured on 60 Minutes with Tim Ferris, podcasts such as The Suitcase Entrepreneur and in the United States on NBC, ABC, Inc. magazine and Fox.
