But the 41-year-old Australian, dubbed the King of Kona after his fifth World Ironman title win in Hawaii, rolled back the years with a consummate victory in Saturday's feature event of the Mount Multisport Festival.

Eves Surfbreaker Triathlon 2014

The Eves Surfbreaker Triathlon was held in challenging conditions off the Mount Main Beach on Saturday. The race ended in controversy with the first three runners all disqualified after illegally following behind a van during the bike leg. More than 100 competitors took to the streets in the sprint and super sprint distances in individual and team events. Photographer Andrew Warner was there.

About 600 people of all ages took on the high trails of Te Mata Peak, and the less challenging Tainui Trail, when the fifth annual Peak Trail Blazer burst into life yesterday. The start and finish point for the runners was Havelock North Primary School, which sparked the event as a fundraiser through Jo Throp, Susie Devonshire, Rachel Cornwall and a devoted crew of volunteers and sponsors. Getting doused in coloured dust raised $28,000 for charity at Tauranga's first Colour Dash. Almost 2000 entrants walked or ran around the Tauranga Racecourse yesterday at their own speed and were doused in coloured dust as they went.
