An Olympic dream is the motivation driving Tauranga's best young archer Mykel Turner ahead of wearing the black silver fern.
The 18-year-old will captain the New Zealand junior team against Australia in a week-long series in Brisbane beginning on Monday.
"Two years ago I came second so hopefully I can step up to win gold as an individual and also to bring home the team trophy," Turner said.
It will be his second transtasman competition. Turner is the outdoor national champion in the men's Under-20 Recurve for Target, Field, Clout and Champion of Champions, and is the indoor national champion.
Next week is a key step forward to hopefully achieving his ultimate goal.
