"So we've basically given you the traits you need in your ideal digital expert and a way to find them."
Not only that, but Powering On allows those experts to connect with the Venture Centre team who co-host events. Jo says it's a natural progression for the organisation.
"Venture Centre has always been about connecting the community and building digital capability within it. We see all these experts in our region, and businesses who need their help, and we wanted to create a really simple way to connect the two. We're huge advocates of this community and supporting local businesses."
One such business is Ace the Gram, which specialises in branding for Instagram, the photo-sharing social media platform. Ace the Gram founder Vivien Conway says working with Venture Centre has been really easy.
"We love the work that Venture Centre does with entrepreneurs and the initiative that is Powering On. The Venture Centre team bring so much energy and support to ideas," Vivien says.
Ace the Gram is holding Powering On's first two workshops — business branding and personal branding — both to be held next Monday, November 27, at Venture Centre's co- working space, Basestation, on Durham St.
"In comparison to unpaid posts on Facebook, Instagram typically gets three times as much engagement (likes and comments), so it's a great option for getting in front of your target audience without paid ads," Vivien says.
"At our workshops, people can expect to understand whether Instagram could be a powerful marketing channel for their business or personal brand, and how they can harness that."
