Sabotage Theory was formed in 2013 in Christchurch with the view of playing a one-off Rage Against the Machine tribute show. After the success of that show, the band decided there was definitely still an audience for the music.
"Rage themselves were no longer touring and it had been 15-20 years since they released their best albums but the music held up and they still had plenty of fans here," according to guitarist Alex Newfield.
The band is playing at Totara St performing hits such as Bulls on Parade, Know Your Enemy, Wake Up and of course crowd favourite Killing in the Name plus many more from Rage's studio albums.
Joining Sabotage Theory on the night is Nirvana tribute band Lounge Apes.
