Detectives are today continuing to check medical centres and doctors in the hope of tracking the mother of a dead newborn boy dumped at the Auckland Domain.
The boy, who police believe died during childbirth, was found wrapped in a white towel, inside a blue Rendells shopping bag, on Sunday about 5 pm.
The bag was alongside Lover's Walk, below Lover's Lane, 300m from the Duck Pond.
Police fear the mother may need medical help and appealed for anyone who knows anything to come forward.
The cause of death is unknown and the case is being treated as an unexplained death.
Search continues for mother of baby found at domain
