The stars, or victims, of Britain's latest reality show have stepped into a world where television voyeurs will be able to spy on their every move - sex included.
In Big Brother, based on the Dutch show of the same name that has already spawned copies in the United States, Spain and Germany, 10 complete strangers in their 20s arrived at a specially designed house in east London to be spied on 24 hours a day.
Each week viewers will decide which of the five men and five women to eject from the camera-peppered house, with the last person left in 64 days' time winning 70,000 Pounds (NZD$232,018).
"Challenges like this don't come along very often, and let's be honest - what an incentive a few grand makes," said one participant, 29-year-old former trainee nun Anna, whose hobbies include "pubs, pals and sex."
