DUNEDIN - Farmers affected by Wrightson's swede seed mix-up should have begun receiving compensation claim forms, says the company.
In February, Wrightson discovered that some of its Major Plus swede seed had been inadvertently sold containing some Maxima Plus rape seed.
Most of the 1000 farmers involved were in Otago and Southland, although there were a few dozen others in the North Island.
A Wrightson spokesman said the timing of payouts would depend on whether farmers accepted offers already made or submitted new claims.
Federated Farmers has described the compensation process as fair and reasonable.
