It was a tough exchange against a top boys school for Wanganui Collegiate as Napier Boys High came to town for the first of three interschool events in the space of a week and half.
Collegiate's 1st XI hockey team were beaten 6-1 on the school turf by their NBHS counterparts - going 2-0 down early and having to chase the game.
The 2nd XV rugby team played NBHS's Under 15A side in the morning rugby game and were beaten 25-22 when the visitors landed a drop goal inside the last minute.
The 1st XV then took on a very strong NBHS 1st XV and were beaten 27-20, although director of sport Barry Touzel said the side, skippered by new Wanganui wider squad member Cody Hemi, gave one of their best efforts in recent matches.
There is little time to recover as Collegiate goes straight into their next sports exchange tomorrow against St Paul's Collegiate.
