Two more challenges have been added to the Wanganui Golf Club's popular annual Nearest the Pin competition this year.
The competition at the Belmont Links on March 10 gives players the chance to win a $1000 Prezzy Card and if they are not currently a member of the Wanganui Golf Club, a year's free membership.
"In addition to the Nearest the Pin we have added two more events for the public to enjoy. If you are unable to enter the Nearest the Pin for any reason then try your hand at the Longest Putt competition," said director of golf and facilities Norm Rapson.
"At $1 per ball you can try and qualify for the final of the Longest Putt to be held at 4.30pm on Saturday, March 14. Get inside the circle and you qualify for the final and the chance to win a helicopter flight for four over Wanganui. Only one qualifying entry per person, but you can try as many times as you like.
"We have also introduced a Putt Putt Team Challenge on Friday, March 13 starting at 5.30pm," Rapson said. "Put together teams of three and try and win the inaugural Wanganui Putt Putt Crown. Great team building, a social time and great prizes to be won with a $30 entry fee. It's great fun for golfers and non-golfers alike."
