Time may no longer be their friend, but Marton Sapphire still had the skills to remain in medal contention at the NZ Masters Games Indoor Netball yesterday.
The affable group of women from Rangitikei were competing in the 35-plus age group and were to meet the only other unbeaten side from yesterday's morning's play.
"Most of us, in fact, probably all of us, are former rep players," Jane Nugent-O'Leary said. "Many of us have played together since primary school days and while we may be the oldest here, we are still hungry to win ..."
Marton Sapphire beat The Fumbles and Star Struck yesterday before clashing with Wanganui side Croaky Frogs, which beat the same sides earlier. "We won't know who is in medal contention until tomorrow."
