Poppy Day soon -- and the RSA needs help with the annual collection

Poppy Day soon -- and the RSA needs help with the annual collection

The Wanganui RSA is seeking volunteers to help with its annual Poppy Day collection.

Collection day is Friday, April 20, and RSA secretary manager Kyle Dalton is asking those with a bit of time to spare to contact the Wanganui RSA during office hours on 06 3455750.

"Poppy Appeal funds are raised locally and used locally to help support veterans, former and current service people and their dependants in our area," Mr Dalton said.

"We honour the memory of those who have gone before by caring for those still with us.

"Our veterans are now aged from 19 to 100 years old. They include retired people, those in civilian life, and currently serving personnel.

"People's assistance as Poppy Day collectors and all donations will help our veterans, their families and our community."
