With a long-term interest in horse riding it was easy for the Wanganui Chronicle's Janene Pope to decide who she wanted to have her parting present.
Mrs Pope is giving up her seat at the Chronicle's front desk, after five and a half years as a classified advertising consultant. She lives in Waverley and wants to spend more time at home and less time on SH3.
Her next job will be behind another counter, in Waverley's Four Square store.
Staff collected money to give her a present before she goes, and decided on a $100 Farmlands voucher. Mrs Pope wanted to give it away.
With roles in both the Waverley Carlyle Pony Club and the Waverley Adult Riding Club, she knows how much owning a horse can cost. She said Riding for the Disabled has had some tough times recently, and does an incredible amount of work.
