A solution is on its way for Bulls' traffic problem - but residents will have to wait before plans are revealed.
The Wanganui Chronicle last week reported on concerns that some Bulls residents and business owners have over traffic safety in Bulls. State highways 1 and 3 intersect in the Rangitikei town, causing traffic congestion and dangerous conditions for pedestrians.
New Zealand Transport Agency's highway manager, Ross l'Anson, said the agency was aware of the traffic problems in Bulls.
"Particularly during the summer holidays when many people are travelling through the central North Island. Bulls is an important junction for people travelling between Wellington and Auckland on State Highway 1, and between Palmerston North and Whanganui on State Highway 3," Mr l'Anson said.
He said NZTA had recently finished the first stage of a project called Accessing Central New Zealand, which is focused on the Manawatu-Whanganui area. Part of Accelerate25 - the government's Manawatu-Whanganui regional economic development action plan - Accessing Central New Zealand aims to take traffic pressure off urban streets.
